My mom always said a recession is when your neighbour loses his job, a depression is when you lose yours.
Every day I insist I am not nearly as dramatic as my mother...I call her doctor doom and misery guts sometimes...respectfully of course.
But sometimes you cant help but worry.
See, I work in a field that exists to help others. As a social worker I work to help the unemployed and homeless to establish meaningful employment and a future. However thanks to restructuring via the government, we are worried. It seems that we are the ones who are stretched thin to help with the current employment situation and now we need to face the same demons.
I can tell you one thing for sure, its incredibly humbling to consider being on the other side of my desk at some point in the future.
In the meantime, watch this video by Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel

Happy New Year!
2010 is going to be one productive year, I can feel it.
Here are some things I am really enjoying so far:
Sipping hot chai tea all day long from my new thermos.

Reading Jane Eyre, my reward for finishing the book is to watch the movie starring one of my favourite acresses, Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Lookie-looing at houses and going to open house tours to get inspiration for my own home someday:

xoxo
