My most memorable christmas present as a kid

I remember being around 7 or 8 and man did I really want a PJ Sparkles.

Holy moly did I ever want that doll. Such an impracticall doll that lit up, but at that age anything that involved batteries was amazing.

I remember getting it and loving it for about a week, and then selling it for a dollar at our garage sale that summer.

Happy Holidays!

2 years and counting

Going through some old photos I came across this image of T.

There he is in his eyebrowed glory at the end of the table. I had such a crush on the boy that I took a picture of him from across the table to sigh over later.

I am also sighing over my Christmas list. The first one is major wishful thinking

Gettin Fresh With Funky Friends

Last night T and I went to Glenn and Livs post christmas party party. They had been participating in the annual open bar office party since real early that evening so by the time we got there at ten, they said they felt it was like 2 am.
It was a calmer good time of just chatting with pals and catching up with the best people I know.
Including this handsome stinky lug...Happy Birthday Butler!

T likes to make fun of the show Jersey Shore, such a gross show. Have you seen it? Heres his impression....

Glenn and Liv in the back...the dream team.

Pelican Bay Pelican Bay

I havent blogged in awhile, so here is a biggie for you!
I dont know how many of you duders live with a significant other...but I do. And I can tell you its a joy...but sometimes its nice to have some alone time.
I got caught up on a lot of things tonight, on a night that would normally be occupied by connection and meaningful conversation. Instead I wandered around, listening to Jenny Lewis and taking pictures of my fave things in my apartment and watch my cat attack her tail. Yipee!
Here's a tour...

Some of my awesome art collection:

Neil Young said the CD was the demise of music

Remember how Mr. Dressup had the tickle trunk? No?

Would you believe some bored little lady in 1910 made a case for her scissors once upon a time? Frameworthy if you ask me.

Sorry about the pine needles, the hook rug is acting as my christmas tree skirt..

Making ornaments from seashells....
Cant wait to be off for the holidays!!

Fa la la la laaa

I extra annoyed my co workers today by walking around the office putting up holiday decorations and singing Christmas carols...only I dont know carols too well so I ended up singing 'la la' or 'loo loo' most of the time.
Snow dumping pictures via my old apartment....

Counting down until February...off to sunny Sanibel island again...

Handmade Holidays

I love good eats and sleeping.
Lately I have been going to bed by 9:30 and I-old-lady-love-it.

My parents had the fantastical idea that we should do handmade gifts this year and I totally agreed. The One of A Kind holiday craft and art show was amazing. Got sooo much inspiration.
Monday I was home under the covers with the sniffles and decided to spend the day working on my parents painting for their gift....shhhh its top secret. Cant post pics until after the holidays considering my stepdad is a dedicated reader and supporter of this wee little blogger-ino.

Holiday crafting party this Saturday!
Enjoying sipping hot coco in front of my Christmas tree,
xoxo

Luck be a Lady

Theme maybe? Two posts with the word 'Lady' in the title?

So lately I have had the privledge of nurturing friendships with extremely talented people. In addition, I am finding the more I focus on art, the more inspiration opens up to me. I am in total awe of the creativity that exists out there and I can only hope that someday I can focus on nuturing my creativity full time.

Alas, the working world and furthering of my education continues to barricade me from cooping myself up in a studio all day

Darrell Roberts studio.

But perhaps cooping myself up isnt a good thing?

Cooped-up get well card made by the very talented Holly Main of Carrier Budge Card Company.

And I cant get over the supreme talent of Abigail Brown. I have such respect for her painstakingly detailed and hand made fabric sculptures. A true inspiration.

Peacock fabric sculputre.

Off to the One of a Kind Craft Show on sunday!
